KEVIN GARNETT’S HOOP IT UP LAUNCHES GET-OUT-TO-VOTE TOUR

Hall-of-Famer Garnett to drive voter participation with nonpartisan basketball tournaments in Milwaukee, Detroit and Philadelphia
NEW YORK, NY - In the run-up to Election Day, Kevin Garnett, an NBA champion, 15-time all
star and NBA Hall of Fame basketball player will host Hoop It Up 2Vote,a civic engagement
effort that merges basketball and voter registration. The free events are designed to drive voter
turnout in the key battleground states of Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania. In addition to
the 3x3 tournament, players will participate in free throw shooting and 3-point contests.
Each host city will have guests and celebrities . In addition to a day of games, attendees will
have access to complimentary rides to polling locations and voter registration booths on-site
where applicable.
Garnett said: “To make a difference go out and vote. Don’t let someone else decide your future.
Every vote counts. Come out on November 5 and make our voices heard.!”

● DETROIT, MI - Sunday, October 27
● PHILADELPHIA, PA - Saturday, November 2
Hoop It Up is open to divisions from youth to adults with cash prizes for the adult teams.
